Paintings of The South Hams, Devon (UK).
A painter and printmaker's haven
Updated: 1 Jun 2017
I spent a lovely week in the South Hams, Devon, UK, during April 2017. Based near Torcross and the oasis of calm that is Slapton Ley. I went as far North as Coleton Fishacre on the other side of the River Dart at Dartmouth, and West to Burgh Island. The weather was exceptionally kind to me all week, so I can confidently say I visited almost everywhere inbetween the two points (Three if you count the rugged Start Point). An intense week spent sketching and collecting reference materials, I've returned home to North Yorkshire with a whole heap of ideas for paintings on canvas and paper, and a few prints too, to add to my already long list of oil, acrylic and linocut ‘art to do’.
I've begun recording my experiences in the lovely South Hams with these acrylic paintings-on-paper, illustrated below.
Acrylic on Paper
I intend to create a collection of artwork including works on paper and oil on canvas, both larger and more small ones like these over the next year.
I will continue to add to these. I regret they are not available to buy just yet.
