'Somewhere' is mostly Yorkshire, because I'm based here, but other 'somewheres' include Northumbria and Devon.
Some of these collections are very small, but all of them are growing
Bridlington North & South Beach, its harbour; Flamborough Head, Dane's Dyke and Bempton Cliffs.
Two classic seaside towns on the Yorkshire Coast.
Bilsdale, Hole of Horcum & Roseberry Topping to name a few.
A few of the well known walking areas like Millington Dale and Thixendale, and it's many ancient places.
Green spaces in these cities, but my history as an architectural illustrator will mean cityscapes too.
Lots of plans for this wonderful area. Hoping to develop a large collection here in future.
See all paintings and prints of Bamburgh Castle completed so far. A collection, like all the others, that will grow.
A small collection of South Hams inspired art. I've not managed to go back [ sad face ].
Miscellaneous, random and just plain odd scenes that insisted I make something.
I'm fascinated with painting green spaces in cities, and am shaping a series exploring the subject. This one was painted on a very wet 'stray' in early March, and I think it's captured it.
A book on painting seascapes I happened across in my local library gripped me for months when I was young. Ever since, seascapes have fascinated me, and my first sell‑out linocut print was a seascape.
Valleys in Yorkshire are called dales, whether they're in The Dales or elsewhere. Hill subjects are always a winner.
I spent much of 2022 painting the Yorkshire coast before the crowds became too much (I'll be back). This project has sparked so many ideas, it's about ready to move into the studio big time.
I don't know what it is about trees that makes them so satisfying to paint especially. As for gardens, well, what's not to like about painting in a garden, though they're more challenging than you'd think.
