‘playful’ sea appeal stands-out from the crowd
Lynne Roebuck’s small and exquisite [print] entitled Tiny’s at Sea shows a boat tossed about on the crest of a wave. It appears to be perilously poised, but what you find yourself focusing on is the exuberant bouncy playfulness of the sea.
There is an error in the article. 'Tiny's At Sea' is a linocut, not an etching.

Blessed are the printmakers
Somewhere, I have this magazine. I also have a pdf of the article. Where they both are... is another matter! When I next come across either, I will enlarge on this entry.

Greetings!
Three prints, one linocut and two digital prints are with a publisher of greetings cards, after they approached me hoping to license some artwork.
Link to‑doWhile it's really nice to have favourable publicity, and publishers approaching asking for rights – and I always appreciate it – it's not something I make a career of. Hence this record isn't complete – not even near.
All of these reviews and publications, you'll have noted, involve my linocuts and digital art. All but one, were published during a period of time when I'd parked painting.
Though I've explained it elsewhere I'm happy to tell it briefly here too…
I parked painting because I was finding it impossible to unlearn years as a commercial illustrator. I was trying to be more 'painter' than 'illustrator', and failing. I'd got to a point where it felt sensible to give it a rest.
So I took up printmaking because it was totally different, and I couldn't not make art. Most of the reviews and publications above are from this time.
My paintings stayed parked for far longer than I'd planned because 1) printmaking was too much fun, and then 2) a 'lightening strike' serious illness wasn't fun.
So relatively speaking, I've only recently picked up my painting again. It's been quite an adventure so far.
And that's why there's no reviews or publications involving my paintings… yet.
